Great Falls! Montana

First, A Happy Birthday to Geoff--still in Hawaii..good luck with the job hunt! As fo rthe older Eggs, we are in Great Falls, Mt, where there is still one large falls left after damming up the Missouri, and it's really nice. We had to be out of our RV park in Lewistwon by 10:30 , so when we woke up at 6:30 we had plenty of time, but the cool morning (47) slowed us down and we barley got everything folded up and outa there. I suited up and rode out and KK drove the rig down the route about 50 miles & I rode to her, and just when I decided to get in & drive, there was a 7-mile downhill I missed! On to Fort Benton & a really nice river park & a Grand Statue of Lewis & Clark & Sakakawea, done in 1976 by Schiver. then an ice cream & onto our KOA in Great Falls. Set up and down to the river front park with more bike paths & overlooks and about 10 miles in the cool of the evening. Hopefully no rain tonight, and we may stay an extra day here before running up to Glacier. 62 miles & 2000' today. KK had 21 miles! total to date for me 1423 & KK 420. (sidebar-this is the spot where the Corps had to portage around the falls, which dropped over 500' back then & it took them an extra month to accomplish this feat!)

Thanks for the B-day call. We're heading off to Maui tomorrow on the ferry. I think I would have turned around and done the 7-mile down hill!
