Goodbye Great falls
Ok, two nights at Great Falls and a good time..up today & breakfast and pack up for the trip up to St Mary & Glacier National Park. We took the back road up to Browning & lunch on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation..so-so. (sidebar-The L&C Expedition did not get this far north, but on teh return trip, Capt Lewis & a small group were in the area & encountered a band of Blackfeet Warriors, who tried to steal their horses & two Indians were killed. Lewis and party then rode for 24 straight hours to get away and meet up with Capt Clark.) On to the KOA & setup the camper, before going off to explore the park. Our Senior pass got us in "free" and a stop at the center & a movie about the park to start the afternoon. We then drove up to Logan Pass, at the Continental Divide, elev 6646'. we stopped numerous times to take pics and believe me, the views are beyond Spectacular! At every turn in the "GOING-TO-THE-SUN ROAD" there is another sight to behold..mountains, glaciers, widlife, glacial lakes, waterfalls, rivers, and on & on. We ran the batteries down on the cameras, but we'll charge 'em up for tomorrow & the entire "Road". As we headed down, I got the bike out & rode back to camp, so lots of downhills(mountain). Back to the camper for a quick hot tub and supper here. Only 24 miles & 900' today, and the evening in chilly..down to 60 already..see ya tomorrow! L&C
