The biking adventures of Mike & KK on the Lewis & Clark Trail from St Charles, Mo to Astoria ,OR in July/Aug, 2008. With other biking & traveling adventures.
A life-long cyclist,(over 254,000 miles!) Mike rode the entire Lewis and Clark trail, with support from his wife, KK. She rode too, but also shopped and scrapbooked. I usually ride about 10,000 miles a year so I was definitely in shape . I ended up riding over 2200 miles on the trip &; KK rode 620. What a great adventure!
Hooray! You two made it to the beautiful Japanese Gardens of Portland! Cami and I had such a great time here; we're so glad you're getting to see it, too!
Yes! I was worried when you left your message yesterday at 2pm that you would not make it back to the gardens before they closed (we missed it one day and went back), but then I remembered it was only noon there -- glad you got to enjoy it. One of the best places ever, and the whole park (rose garden etc) was also fab. DId Mt. Hood make an appearance? If so, I hope you took pix because we weren't sure where it was exactly when we were there.
We really loved it there. It was kinda drizzly and quiet, perfect day for the garden! While looking at postcards the guy started talking to me & he said the exact thing, ha. Dad & I had just said it while walking thru. We didn't take a lot of time with the rosed, but they were fab. The rain was starting to come down, & we had to find our way to the Interstate & traffic, but we managed. Some of the roads were very mindful of the 'Burgh, steep & Curvy. Mt hood was nowhere to be seen, we thhink it was behind that first sand garden where the telescopes were looking out over the city??
