WHAT! No Flamingos? Well, not yet, but a few Alligators, two camels, a tiger, eagles (in the nest!) & the usual seabirds. A good day at the Kennedy Space Center, touring the complex..144,000 acres..and seeing the Endeavour on the pad, ready to launch! We slept in 'till 8:20 & 9:30, respectively & had a good breakie here, with eggs, toast & links, before heading out to the Space Center by 1ish. We went start for the tour buses & three areas to visit. First was the Shuttle complex, with the VAB, the crawler & pad #39. A few good pics from towers & areas & also some good short films on the missions. The second area was the Saturn V complex & an actual Saturn vehicle inside the bldg..what a massive piece of machinery! The most powerful vehicle ever built. Last stop is the International Space Station building where all equipment is assembled & inspected before being put into the shuttle for transportation the the ISS. Back to the Space Complex and some snacks & shopping. We also "rode" the "Shuttle Launch Experience", simulating a launch and reaching 2800 mph in 2 minutes. Pretty cool & KK didn't get sick! We buy a few things and head out for supper..up hiway 1 looking for a local spot..Paul's Seafood & smokehouse. Very good & the margarets were cheap! A great view of the ocean & space complex. We're told it's a great spot to watch a launch..$10 to park in their lot. Good temps today..around 73 & sunny..rain due in tonight. see ya..mike/kk
