Red Rock Canyon

October 1st-Off we go on a 2-night camp-out to Hinton, Okla, and a very nice State Park. It's Red Rock Canyon, out in the Oklahoma plains, but drops over 160 feet into a lovely canyon. Lots of hiking trails, campsites and canyon walls to test your repelling skills. There are over 70 sites with hookups and many other primitive tent sites & nice restrooms & showers. The newer showers are pay but are very nice. We set up by 3:00 on Friday afternoon, and I biked a few miles & climbed out of the canyon, which was pretty steep. We had prepared chili before leaving the house, and with the Haws coming to stay the night we put it on the grill to heat up. We also took some firewood, so I got that ready for the evening. When the Haws arrived, I had Terry to get the fire going, so we could enjoy the chilly evening. The chili was great! (KK makes a FAB chili!) To bed by 11:00, as Fonda was falling asleep at the table. A good night's rest before getting up about 8:00 and putting the coffee on to perk.
